ANN ARBOR – Merit Network has announced the formation of the Michigan Information Technology Executives (MITE) Forum, a collaborative community for chief information officers and IT executives in education and other technology sectors.

The MITE Forum will primarily focus on issues that IT executives in education face and provide forum members with the opportunity to find solutions to problems, share experiences and best practices, develop professionally, and gain inspiration and support from their peers.

For an annual fee of $500, the MITE Forum provides members with an on-line collaboration web site and admission to MITE Forum meetings, as well as access to any other Forum calls and video teleconferences.

The first in-person meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 26 at the Michigan Information Technology Center in Ann Arbor from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Interested participants may join the MITE Forum before or after the first meeting. Registration information and program details are available on the Michigan Information Technology Executives (MITE) Forum web site.

The MITE Forum is the first “Community of Practice” established by Merit Network, which intends to create other forums that provide its Members and other Michigan technology professionals opportunities for discussion, knowledge transfer, and professional development.
