Jameka Williams

Jameka Williams serves as the Executive Director of Member Services and Community Engagement where her organizational impact includes nurturing connections to solve challenges which provide an exceptional member experience and deliver value that enables member success. She is a senior leader responsible for organizational financial sustainability, community engagement, and member services portfolio development and lifecycle management, ensuring Merit’s offerings remain mission-aligned, sustainable, and responsive to community needs.

Jameka joined Merit Network in 2014 and her early work included developing not only internal processes but also product sets that aligned with the community’s needs as she spearheaded efforts in product development and partner engagement for cybersecurity services.

As Merit evolved, as did her journey. She joined the leadership team and led large-scale change management efforts and operational advances that included team mergers, multi-institutional program development leveraging federal funding under the USAC program, and most recently acquired operational oversight for product management. Her ability to know the community, align Merit solutions to their needs, and engage the ecosystem in a way that supports strategic initiatives.

Jameka is a frequent speaker at regional and national forums, where she presents on broadband, healthcare connectivity and funding, product strategy, and the role of anchor institutions in building resilient, community-centered digital infrastructure.

Beyond Merit, Jameka is deeply engaged in community and national service. She currently serves as a board member of the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan (CEDAM), supporting statewide efforts to advance equitable economic development. She also serves on the Internet2 Toward Gigabit Libraries Advisory Board which focuses on creating and maintaining a digital toolkit on connectivity and beyond for libraries. And finally, Jameka is a member of the Michigan Council of Women in Technology.

She received her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Alabama Birmingham. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, being in nature of any kind, and trying new recipes.
