Vice President for Community Engagement
Charlotte Bewersdorff
Charlotte Bewersdorff serves as Merit’s Vice President for Community Engagement and has been an integral part of Merit’s leadership team since joining the organization in 2013. She leads efforts to accelerate digital transformation, promote community resiliency, and drive economic development through digital initiatives in local governments and across the community anchor ecosystem.
Charlotte has pioneered and scaled approaches to broadband mapping techniques, working closely with the MSU Quello Center. She is committed to eliminating broadband access gaps and driving community resiliency through data-driven research, community action, and the development of public-private partnerships.
She holds positions as a Board Member of the Michigan Broadband Alliance and the Schools Health & Libraries Broadband Coalition, is a member of the Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation, and runs the Broadband Community of Practice for Merit. Her efforts to extend advanced networking, content, and services to community anchors nationwide earned her the 2021 Rose-Werle Award for her contributions to the community.
Charlotte’s approach to tackling long-term challenges aligns perfectly with Merit’s mission of “Connecting Organizations and Building Community.” She effectively organizes teams, aligns components, and manages with urgency to achieve impactful results.
Before her time at Merit, Charlotte held various leadership roles at M&O Marketing, focusing on system enhancements and continuous improvement platforms. She graduated from Detroit Mercy with a BA in Business Management and Finance. In her free time, Charlotte enjoys golfing, cooking, and spending time with her family.
