The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) is seeking comments for the design and implementation of the State Digital Equity Capacity Grant Program and the Digital Equity Competitive Grant Program, which are established by the Digital Equity Act and funded through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021. The Quello Center at Michigan State University, the Digital Equity Research Center at the Metropolitan New York Library Council, and Merit Network have submitted joint comments that emphasize the importance of shared metrics, flexible capacities, and a focus on both near and long-term broader community outcomes for digital equity, based on 25 years of published research.
