Description:

During this webinar, Internet2 will describe the three services that comprise the Internet2 Networking for Cloud. Each solution can be tailored for use by the universities in Michigan to implement cloud solutions. In a roundtable format, Internet2 will give attendees time to present cloud networking use cases for discussion with Internet2 technical experts.

The three services comprising the Internet2 Networking for Cloud are:

Internet2 Peer Exchange (I2PX) provides strategic connectivity to portions of the public Internet through peering relationships with select Software as a Service (SaaS) providers (such as Office 365 or Zoom)

Cloud Connect (I2CC) allows Merit members to use the Internet2 and Merit infrastructure to obtain up to 5Gbps of “direct-connect” private Layer 2 and Layer 3 access to Microsoft, Amazon and Google cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platforms at no additional fee

Rapid Private Interconnect (I2RPI) provides private 10G interconnections at four major peering points across the country at low annual rates allowing Merit members to leverage the current investment in Merit and Internet2’s infrastructures to reach cloud providers, or any commercial provider located at the peering point, for dedicated access or improved resiliency.
