Jason,
If you are registered in the RADB, a significant component in the IRR,
that is about all you need. While there are several registries, there
is only one IRR.
The route servers are BGP engines which generate routing information
for their peers using the IRR. No special registration is needed for
the route servers, although there are a couple of entries in the IRR
that were placed there for use by the route servers and are of no
interest in other peerings.
