Northern Michigan Univ.

We have just received official word that Northern Michigan University
will become a Merit member. They will be a Class III member with
two 56K attachments to MichNet (one to the backbone at MTU and another
to the backbone in Grand Rapids). This will all be effective just as
soon as we can make the attachment -- probably sometime early in 1994.
We plan to move the existing Marquette dial-in lines and the MSU
Netblazer into facilities at NMU as well.
This is exciting news. It means that 10 out of Michigan's 13
state supported universities will be members and that 12 out of
13 are either members or affiliates.
