The Michigan Census: Everyone Counts. Everyone Wins!

It’s critical for community anchor institutions to encourage all Michiganders to participate in the 2020 census. The federal government uses census data to allocate more than $675 billion in federal funds annually for community programs, services, education programs and more. The State of Michigan leverages this information for planning and allocating funds for new school construction, libraries, highway safety and public transportation systems, new roads and bridges and many other projects.

The Michigan Nonprofit Association’s 2020 Michigan Nonprofits Count Campaign is a collaborative, coordinated, statewide effort to encourage participation in the census in communities that are at significant risk of being undercounted.

There’s a lot at stake for the 2020 census and there is a clear need for outreach, communication, coordination and organizing to ensure a fair and complete count in Michigan. Consider aligning your organization with these efforts today!
