Merit Network Inc. is pleased to announce that on April 1, 2010 it signed an agreement with VMware Inc. to provide VMware licensing to public sector organizations throughout the state of Michigan.
The agreement gives Merit Network the unlimited ability to license VMware’s industry-leading suite of state-of-the-art virtualization software and technological support services. Merit Members in the area of higher education (public universities, private colleges and community colleges), K-12 intermediate school districts, libraries, governmental agencies and medical-teaching health care institutions are eligible to participate. Non-Merit Members in these categories have the ability to become part of the Merit community and also benefit from this significant discount. The agreement allows Merit to offer VMware virtualization software and technology support at significantly discounted pricing, currently unavailable to any single institution.
For those Merit Members that are already familiar with the VMware product offerings and are in need of VMware licenses, we can process your orders now. We are in the process of preparing informational materials and support to help our membership learn about the benefits of virtualization and VMware product offerings. Requests for information or to order VMware products should be directed to [email protected]
Merit is very excited to be able to offer these cost saving tools to its membership and looks forward to further developing our partnership with VMware. Stay tuned for more information about this exciting new program.
