Merit hosts a variety of events to bring together Merit Community Members with similar needs and interests, to build strong peer relationships, to share knowledge and expertise, and to recognize Merit Community Member successes.
May 17 – 18, 2017  
Merit is excited to announce that in 2017, the Merit Member Conference and the Michigan Cyber Range Conference will be merged into one signature event!
The event will feature nationally-respected keynote speakers and engaging presentations on new technologies, networking, cybersecurity and more, and will take place over three days: May 17 – Merit Member Only Day, May 18 – The Michigan Cyber Range, and May 19 – Specialized Add-On Workshops.
Community of Practices

MITE Forum
The Michigan Information Technology Executive (MITE) Forum is a community in which managers and executives of education institutions can get help with problems, share best practices, develop professionally, help others grow, and gain inspiration from their peers through regular meetings and discussion.

Merit hosts Merit Joint Technical Staff (MJTS) meetings twice a year for Member organization representatives to discuss networking and information technology related issues. MJTS meetings feature presentations on advanced technology, Member projects, network updates and more, and are driven by member interests.

Innovation Groups
Merit Innovation Groups bring Members and Merit staff together for in-depth discussions on topics important to the Merit Community. The Michigan Cyber Range thanks everyone who attended the fourth annual MCRCon. The security conference focused on hacking prevention, incident handling, forensics and post-event public relations, with presentations made by nationally-recognized experts and a cybersecurity skills competition.

Wednesday & Thursday, May 11-12, 2016
The 2016 Merit Member Conference was our biggest yet! The MMC featured nationally-respected keynote speakers, engaging presentations on new technologies and many networking opportunities. We commemorated 50 years of Merit with an anniversary celebration.

We honored Merit’s 50th Anniversary with a celebration on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest. The event followed the first day of the Merit Member Conference (MMC).

Monday, November 7, 2016  
The 2016 Merit Security Summit brought together cybersecurity leaders from a diverse base of industries and sectors to share their expertise and to collaborate on new innovations.
The Security Summit agenda also featured a guest panel who discussed the new Cyber Range Hub program, with representatives from the first round of new Hub installations participating.
Tuesday, March 1, 2016  
Merit President and CEO Joe Sawasky debuted the Merit Digital Commons – a new virtual social space created to facilitate communication and cooperation between Merit Members.
The Summit also featured presentations on collaboration techniques and best practices, and provided the opportunity to network with other Merit Members and staff, as well as vetted vendors.
