Michigan-Flint with a B.S. in Computer Science in the
Honors Program. Being an Internet Consultant at Merit
Network, Inc. means that I am the personal contact for the organizations
and schools who are connected to MichNet, the "Michigan part of the
Internet". I have lived almost my entire life in Grand Blanc, Michigan, and I attended Grand Blanc High

- Serve as primary Merit representative and contact to both
new and established Merit customers. Duties include: coordinating
installation and support activities between customers and Merit staff;
responding to customer questions about direct connections, shared dial-in
access and other Merit network services; establishing and modifying domain
names, maintaining DNS configurations and routing plans, assessing
training needs; assisting with trouble-shooting and problem resolution;
traveling to customer sites to provide orientations and hands-on training
in the above areas; presenting Internet-related presentations and working
with other Merit staff to deliver network seminars; providing pricing
information and quotations to established customers; designing wide area
network solutions; sustaining professional development by attending
conferences, reading trade publications and experimenting with and
exploring new software and hardware platforms; designing and maintaining
departmental Intranet documentation site using HTML in a UNIX text editor;
producing and encoding live RealAudio broadcasts of Merit Network's
