Merit Network, Inc., a nonprofit serving the education community for over 42 years, announces the addition of Lamar University of Beaumont, Texas to its rapidly growing membership of colleges and universities (EDUs) that have selected MeritMail™ to replace their campus-wide email solutions. The addition of Lamar brings the number of MeritMail accounts added in the past year to more than 250,000.

npServ, a program of NEW (Nonprofit Enterprise at Work), and Merit Network, Inc. have reached a partnership agreement allowing npServ to act as a reseller of MeritMail email services to nonprofit organizations.

Michigan Technological University implements MeritMail suite for its new HuskyMail system.
"We look at email as the center point to people on our campus," said Dan DeBeaubien, director of distributed computing services for Michigan Technological University. "It's not just an email system.
It's the most visited web page on campus. It's the place where our students go to store their files.
We didn't want to treat it like a commodity service where we didn't care any more. We wanted it
to be really good."

Eastern Michigan University implements MeritMail solution for its campus community.
Over 50,000 email accounts were created for faculty, staff, students, and affiliates. For alumni, EMU provided over 150,000 mail-forwarding-only accounts, which allow alumni to forward messages from their old EMU email addresses to their current email accounts.

Michigan Technological University has reached an agreement with Merit Network, Inc. of Ann Arbor, Michigan, to outsource faculty, staff, student, and alumni e-mail and calendaring applications. The new service will be in place before the start of Fall Semester, 2008.
