Announcing Two Seminars for Web Professionals

Merit Network is pleased to present two special seminars featuring information architecture pioneer Louis Rosenfeld, to be held March 30 and 31, 2010. "Enterprise Information Architecture" and "Site Search Analytics for a Better User Experience" will help organizations develop effective web content to better serve their users.

These seminars will be of great interest to web developers, communication managers and information designers. Please distribute this announcement to people within your organization who are responsible for presenting information online.

Enterprise Information Architecture: March 30, 2010

Developing a unified web site or intranet for a large, decentralized organization is the Holy Grail for many of today's Internet professionals. This advanced information architecture seminar is for managers and web professionals who work to tie together content in a rational, user-centered way, regardless of content ownership issues, cultural hurdles and conflicting needs.

In this seminar Lou Rosenfeld will combine lecture, demonstration, exercises and discussion to address the difficult task of designing unified information architectures for organizations. The seminar is meant for information architects, content managers, webmasters, managers and others seeking to develop a unified information architecture for a complex organization's web site or intranet.

Site Search Analytics for a Better User Experience: March 31, 2010

If your web site has a search engine, you're sitting on an often under-utilized pot of gold: search query data that describes what your customers really want from your site--in their own words. Site search analytics helps you understand and benefit from that data, enabling you to better diagnose and solve a multitude of user experience problems. The result: better content, better navigation, better search, better interface design and better user experience.

Lou Rosenfeld--co-author of the forthcoming "Search Analytics for your Site: Conversations With Your Customers"--will combine lecture, discussion and extensive hands-on exercises to cover the essentials of site search analytics. He'll show you how spending even an hour a week analyzing your search queries can help tune and improve your site and expose new opportunities for improving your online strategy.
