Holiday Schedule for Merit Network OfficesNovember 14, 2008By Jason Russell The Merit Network offices in Ann Arbor will be closed from Thursday, December 25, 2008, through Thursday, January 1, 2009. Our offices will reopen Friday, January 2, 2009. Merit's Network Operations Center (NOC) will continue to operate 24x7 during this period (including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day) and other Merit staff will be on-call to respond to any service and network issues. Please call the NOC directly for site support during this period. This might be a good time to ensure that you have the phone number for the Merit NOC handy and that your contacts are correct in Merit's database. Please visit the Member Portal to verify your contact information and make any edits. If you need assistance or would like to add new contacts, you can request additional contacts be added via the Member Portal or by contacting Member Relations. The Merit backbone and all Merit services will continue to operate during the holiday period. As you might expect, during this time-frame, installs and/or upgrades of access circuits will need to be arranged if they are not already scheduled. If you anticipate the need for a new service or an upgrade before December 17, 2008, you should contact your Merit Support Team as soon as possible. Orders for new services or upgrades will be fulfilled after the start of the New Year. However, we will continue to take orders through December 24, 2008 and start the installation and implementation ordering process. Network abuse incidents that require an immediate response should be reported directly to the Merit NOC.
