Merit's High-Speed Backbone NetworkMerit manages the nation's longest-running regional network, which has been in continuous operation since May 1973.
Merit has implemented a 10 GB backbone to provide a flexible, robust
architecture to support the needs of our Members. Merit can provide connectivity to a single K-12 organization or
a consortium of organizations.
Merit has been providing Internet and Internet2 access to the K12 community in Michigan
since the inception of our affiliate member program in 1992.
