Merit's High-Speed Backbone NetworkMerit manages the nation's longest-running regional network, which has been in continuous operation since May 1973. Merit's fiber-optic network infrastructure has grown to cover a majority of Michigan, and Merit provides dedicated, high-speed connections for intermediate school districts, private schools, and other K-12 organizations in the state. The network enables districts to share resources and save costs with the Merit On-Net/Off-Net Service.
