    Serving State and Local Government

Merit Network is a collaborative community of government, education, and nonprofit organizations that utilizes Merit's high-performance network, essential services, and exceptional Member support to help your organization achieve its mission and goals.

Since 1992, Merit Network has provided government organizations in Michigan with networking expertise, professional learning opportunities, and additional services to help them achieve their goals. Merit is a trusted partner, serving local, county, and state government organizations across Michigan.

    Network Engineering Expertise

Merit's engineers are respected experts in the field and can provide customized configurations to link one office or multiple locations to Merit's backbone network. Whether it's configuring BGP, IPv6, subnetting, or multicast, our networking team can find the right solution to meet the network needs of state and local government organizations.

Merit's engineers can consult on designing your local network or improving your network's security.

    Cybersecurity Training

The Michigan Cyber Range prepares cybersecurity professionals for detecting, preventing, and thwarting cyber-attacks in a real-world setting. Throughout the year, the Michigan Cyber Range hosts certification courses covering multiple cybersecurity disciplines. A current schedule of cybersecurity courses is available online.

Governmental organizations can rent their own space on the Michigan Cyber Range, and use the Merit Secure Sandbox to conduct their own training or cybersecurity excercises.

    Merit's High-Speed Backbone Network

Merit manages the nation's longest-running regional network, which has been in continuous operation since May 1973. Merit has implemented a 10 gigabits-per-second (Gbps) backbone to provide a flexible, robust architecture to support the needs of our Members. Merit can provide connectivity to a single government organization or a consortium of organizations.

Merit has been providing connectivity to government organizations in Michigan since the inception of our affiliate member program in 1992.
