Re: [OpenCALEA] software packaging (was Hello)

Some thoughts for whomever is doing software packaging, something that
will need resolved, and surely in different fashion for different
distributions, is determining all the functions of a machine on which
OpenCALEA is installed. We also need init scripts to implement that
configuration.

With the new architecture we're working on, one machine will need to
be a controller, running controllerd. At least one machine will be a
DF, running df_collector (though it'll be flexible enough to run
multiple df_collectors). Any machine running tap needs to start up
tap_collector (note, this piece, like others, is not yet
written/complete). We don't have any work on IAS CmII agents yet, but
eventually there'll be one for dhcp, radius, and the like - each
potentially could be on a different machine, and each have a
*_controller client to startup. We'll also have surveillance logs going
to some location (probably will use df_collector for that, but it
doesn't have to be the same df_collector that is handling data). In a
probably fairly common (and maybe default) case, all could be on the
same machine, but it will indeed have that many separate processes
running.

So... all machines will need to know where to contact the controller
daemon. After that, some specific configuration may be needed as well
(eg. listening on a specific interface, setup IAPSystemID, etc.). And
each machine will need to know what pieces it needs to start.
