  Not my "call" but I expect it's quite welcome.

  The mailing list archives (like the project) are pretty new, and
could probably be read in their entirety for current status, or I'll
put some specific threads below; together with info in the man pages
and TODO files, you can see where things are at.  Manish has been
the only "face" I've "seen" from Merit, and is more or less the
project coordinator.  There are a couple (now 3) of us on irc as
well, at irc://irc.freenode.net/calea.
