This is the promised invitation for SANS Internet Security Threat Update
this Wednesday. We are happy to be restarting this popular series, with

SANS December 2001 "Internet Security Threat Update" and briefing on
"Security Policies That Work: Avoiding the Common Errors." Program
Summary: Vicki Irwin, lead analyst at Incidents.Org, will provide a
summary of the newest threat affecting millions of users. Then Stephen
Northcutt, director of SANS Certification and training programs, will
provide an excerpt from the Security Officer Certification training
program - on what differentiates policies that work from those that
don't. Finally, Chris Pick, V.P. of Security Strategy at PentaSafe,
will provide information about the security awareness and security
policy survey PentaSafe is conducting with Computerworld and Computing
magazines.

Length: 65 minutes
Don't forget to mark your calendar for Wednesday, but please
pre-register today so you can access the program on the day of the
event. This one will be very popular. Last time we had one this
popular, more than 3,000 people who tried to register, just as the
program was beginning, were shut out.
