RE: Scanning for Viruses

Lyle,
We are currently using a Sco-Unix box with Pine mail on it. It is old and
outdated, but we are not happy with the options that Microsoft is offering.
We have not been able to find antivirus software for our particular system.
We are however, scanning e-mail at our firewall. It will remove the
attached files known to contain viruses (problem if it is a valid file) and
sends a message to the user that an attached file was deleted. We are happy
so far with the results.

Subject: Scanning for Viruses
We are considering installing E-Mail anti-virus software on our E-Mail
server. We would like to know if any one is using anti-virus software on
your E-Mail servers to scan your users E-Mail for infected messages? This
particular software would then return the infected email back to the sender
and to the postmaster, along with notification that the mail contained a
virus. If you do not have an E-Mail anti-virus on your server, what would
be the reason?
