Truly practical with today's storage media... if the Wiki story is
correct, it was a 4Gb memory stick

was the old "Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full
of tapes hurtling down the highway. —Tanenbaum, Andrew S." but then a
pigeon would have trouble hauling 9-track tapes :-)
