State of multicast traceroute and ping

What is the state of arts about multicast traceroute and ping, especially:

 

1)       The fate of draft-ietf-idmr-traceroute-ipm?  Dead or became RFC?

2)       Is the mtrace still useful in PIM-SM, PIM-SSM, etc?  Does most of router support mtrace?

3)       Any multicast ping tool from receiver to source available?
