OUTAGE: gopher eats fiber

Today's fiber cut --- In USWEST territory a gopher chewed through a
fiber cable near Portales, New Mexico. Service to 6,000 customers
including long distance, 9-1-1 and two airports was disrupted. Airport
service has been restored.
