It is prudent for a company as large as Sprint to diversify its
product offerings. If customers want ATM it will be provided :-)
This approach may be more costly but it guarantees survival
in case if a fatal flaw was uncovered in the technology after it
was deployed; it is also useful to offer "one-stop-shopping" for
customers who want, for example, X.25, voice and Internet access.
