I don't think that all the posts Gadi makes that people seem to
whine about have been off-topic (whatever that is?). I'd say I
am WAY more bothered by the dozens and dozens of follow-up mails
from every self-made moderator we have on the main list. THAT is
something I'd rather stop.

I feel that the most benefical thing we could do is to try to
stop most of the endless meta-debates we see by non-moderators
on the main list; force it to be moved here. If someone has a
view that something said is seriously off-topic my view is that
they should:

a) take it in private with the individual posting.
b) if disagreements remain and/or posts keep flowing that people
feel are annoying and/or off-topic bring it up with the main
   moderators.
c) have the moderators make a public statement related to the
threads to clarify what we should do from now on.

And generally speaking we ought to have some reminders now and
then on what the people behind the list feel is OK to discuss,
atleast generally. I am sure it has been said somewhere now and
then, but worth reminding irregularly.
