I certainly don't want guards. Nanog badged tend
to be big, much bigger than most corporate
badges. If we simply encourage a culture of
displaying the badges prominently, which
could mean holding it up for the door attendant
to see, then 99% of the problem is solved.

I don't want to see an increase in complexity
and I don't think the idea of allowing attendees
to attend for a day or a session necessarily means
that registration processes will be made complex.

The question of whether we should sell day passes
or session passes is separate from the question of
whether we should sell passes on-site. We might decide
to do one without the other, or we might decide to
put some time limit on when passes will be sold on-site
in order to work around flash crowds. I.e. not sell
on-site passes when we know that pre-pay customers will
be picking up their registration kits.
