ANNOUNCEMENT: 734 area code becomes mandatory July 25

	A N N O U N C E M E N T 

Earlier this year, much of The Western Metro Detroit area, including 
Washtenaw County, received a new telephone area code: 

	(734). 
 
Today, both 313 and 734 will work when dialing an Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti
number.  On July 25th, 1998, the new area code, 734, becomes mandatory. 

Please update your rolodex, databases, and files to reflect Merit
Network's new area code for all Merit contact numbers.
