We currently have a caching server running here at WMU on a Pentium running
Solaris 2.6 and it appears to be working well. It's a 90Mhz with 136Mb of
memory and three 2Gb SCSI disks for cache. The squid software built well
and installed with no problems. Someone else here configured the squid
server software but he reports that it wasn't too bad.

If you have a Solaris for x86 license you might want to consider it.
