DUTIES:
Handle second-level telephone and e-mail consulting for
Merit customers. Serve as primary Site Representative to
established Merit customers and become the affiliate's
primary contact point at Merit; respond to customer
questions about Internet-related topics and assist in
coordinating problem resolution; participate in the
recruiting, consulting and site representative project teams
or other internal coordination groups to improve on-going
communications and procedures.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts
successfully to a non-technical user audience; knowledge of
various client/server applications such as Gopher, World
Wide Web, etc.; experience with Unix, DOS/Windows or Mac
working environments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree including computer-related course work or
an equivalent combination of education and experience; one
year experience with use of the Internet and associated
technology; considerable experience in effective
communication of complex technical subjects; experience with
the use of common computer applications, including
wordprocessing, electronic mail and spreadsheets; ability to
work both independently and as a member of a team; experience
being a trusted representative to outside individuals and groups.
