Subject: Merit NSFNET Tech Seminar Directions to the Building

Ahhh...a minor detail...directions to the actual building the Merit 
NSFNET Technical Seminar will be held in.

                 Directions to the Chrysler Center 
            on the University of Michigans North Campus
       ------------------------------------------------------------ 
       These directions specifically get you from Detroit Metro Airport 
       to the Chrysler Center but may be easily adapted for those entering 
       Ann Arbor off of either I-94 or US-23.

 1.  On exiting airport, follow I-94 West (marked Ann Arbor or Chicago).
 
 2.  Go west about 18 miles to US-23.  Exit to US-23 north.  Follow US-23
     north about 4 miles to Geddes Road  (Exit number 39) and exit.
 
 3.  Turn left on Geddes and follow along about two miles.  You will pass 
     two traffic lights, and after the second light, Geddes Road changes into 
     Fuller Road.  You will be forced to make an abrupt right-hand turn onto 
     a one-way street (the street is named Oakway Road, and the Veteran's 
     Hospital will be on your left).  Stay in the right lane and go "straight" 
     at the stop sign at the end of the block.  You are entering the UM North 
     Campus on Beal Avenue at this point.
 
 4.  Turn left at the first stop sign, onto Bonisteel Boulevard.  Bonisteel
     only goes left at this point.  For those familiar with Merits location,
     you are driving past our parking lot.  
 
 5.  The Chrysler Center is on Bonisteel Boulvard and is depicted as
     building #1 in the diagram below.

 6.  For those who have pre-arranged to have a parking permit: 
       a) You must park in either lot #18 or #25 and only in the staff paid 
          areas (ie: do not park at a meter or in a metered area).  Warning...
          if you park outside of these lots or park in a metered spot and 
          receive a ticket we will not be able to reimburse you.  :-(  
       b) Permits will be included in your registration packet...so plan on 
          making a trip back to your car to attach the permit.
