Re: cut off after 30-45 minutes inactivity

  • From: Richard_R.Moore

I would strongly object to a "short" period of inactivity terminating a
connection - and i consider any time less than around 8 hours as "short"!

It is not infrequent that i will be connected, working on some task, and i get
a phone call, vistor, or some other urgent interruption. It will be hours
before i can get back to my work. I do not want to take the time to clean up
and terminate the work i was doing before i was interrupted. But if my
connection is terminated in 45 minutes and the "recovery hold" on my system is
only 15 minutes, then an hour and 5 minutes interruption could cause a
complete loss of my work! Consequently, i do not want to be disconnected
anytime during my normal work period.
