 FYI - my thanks to Bert Rossi for pushing the SDS link to
 Oakland forward. This gives Oakland one hop access to NSFNET
 where before all of the Oakland traffic had to go through WSU.
 This should be an improvement for both Oakland and WSU.
 
 We've got three of the four planned SMDS links working now: Ann
 Arbor, Oakland and Flint. We aren't sure if we'll be adding the
 fourth (WSU) or not. In some ways it would be nice to continue
 to push the SMDS experiment, but in others the SMDS trial has
 taken more time and work that originally planned and there is a
 lot of other work that needs to be done this fall (complete the
 backbone upgrade, attach new affiliates, ...).

 The SMDS link to Oakland University has been put on line.  NOC, you will
 need to add the SMDS serial interface address, 35.127.208.4, on the
 Oakland router to Rover.  Pass any reports of unusual behavior at OU tto
 me or the shop asap.
