Query Problems

Hello,
I've had a couple of problems with queries to IRRd.
#1) I successfully added a role object to the database, but I can't seem
to query for it, via the NIC handle or the the role. Queries for a person
object work just fine, however.
#2) Queries for routes in CIDR notation seem to lock up IRRd, but queries
of just the network portion of the prefix work OK. For example this works
fine:
[stacy@wampus stacy]$ whois -h localhost "10.0.0.0"
route: 10.0.0.0/8
descr: RFC1918 address space
tech-c: SWS1
origin: AS6395
member-of: rs-BLACKHOLE
notify: stacy@wampus.ixc-comm.com
mnt-by: MAINT-AS6395
changed: stacy@wampus.ixc-comm.com 19990923
source: IXC
But after this query, IRRd locks up. It never returns from the query, I
can't telnet to the administrative interface, it doesn't accept other
queries, etc.
[stacy@wampus stacy]$ whois -h localhost "10.0.0.0/8"
Has anyone else experienced either of these problems? Any suggestions?
Also, can anyone give me a pointer on how I might go about adding a new
class for private/internal use?
Thanks in advance,
Stacy
