Virtualization 2011: A Summit for Decision-Makers is
coming up on Wednesday, December 7, at the Kellogg Center
in East Lansing. The event will bring together
technologists and administrators to learn about advances
in this important technology.

Agenda and
presentations
The agenda for the
day will include twelve or more presentations about
desktop virtualization technologies and case studies. Key
speakers include:
- Randy
Schapel, Mott Community College, on cost-conscious
ways to adopt desktop virtualization.
- Troy Griese
and Jonathan May of MidMichigan Health on their
project to develop a desktop environment that has been
deployed to 1000 terminals in six months.
- Stan Pope of
Central Michigan University on VMware View techniques
for managing and administering desktops.
- Ryan Henyard
and Kevin Jones of the University of Michigan on UM's
ongoing production desktop virtualization service for
colleges and departments.
- Larry
Zimmerman and Clint Adkins of Coretek Services on the
fundamentals of desktop virtualization and application
virtualization.
- Technical
presentations from Cisco, Data Strategy, Cambridge
Computer and VMware.
Additionally, the
agenda will include opportunities for attendees to
brainstorm together about their main issues in desktop
virtualization, as well as a concluding panel discussion
drawing together the day's important themes.
Location, times

Desktop
Virtualization: A Summit for Decision Makers will be
held at the Kellogg Center on the campus of Michigan State
University in East Lansing on Wednesday, December 7, 2011.
The agenda will begin with continental breakfast at 8:30
a.m., with presentations from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A
social hour will end the day.
Registration for individuals from Merit Member
organizations is $79 per attendee. Attendees from
organizations that are not Merit Members may attend for
$99. Registration includes breakfast, lunch and
refreshment breaks.
