Announcing 2009-2010 Merit Professional Learning calendar
- From: Andy Rosenzweig
- Date: Fri Sep 25 10:08:01 2009
On behalf of Merit Network, I'm very pleased to present the attached
calendar of our Professional Learning events for 2009-2010.
Merit's Professional Learning program features a wide range of meetings
and training events organized for the benefit of our Members. Using
networking as a starting point, we provide opportunities to learn and
share knowledge about the world of technology for education, research,
libraries, healthcare, and non-profit organizations.
Here are a few highlights of the upcoming calendar:
* Network staff have several opportunities to enhance
their skills through courses on fundamental technical
topics, including IPv6, campus LAN switching, and multicast.
* Security managers can learn about Linux platform security
and network security tools at workshops led by the University
of Michigan's Charles Antonelli, or learn about secure coding
and virtualization security from the SANS Institute.
* Information architects, web developers and content managers
won’t want to miss two seminars in March by noted information
architecture consultant Lou Rosenfeld. These seminars are a
special learning opportunity for professionals who work to
create contemporary information platforms.
You will note many other events on the attached calendar, including MJTS
meetings, gatherings of the MITE Forum for IT executives, and the annual
Merit Member Conference. New events are added regularly, and updated
calendars will be sent throughout the year. Most events are open now,
and registration is available online. The full calendar of events is
also available at:

Professional Learning is a key benefit of your organization's membership
in Merit. I hope you will share this calendar with your colleagues and I
encourage you to take advantage of these unique opportunities to enrich
your professional development.
