Learn the Essentials of ITIL

Merit Network will present ITIL v3 Foundation, an interactive online course on the fundamentals of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), on November 7-11, 2011. Each day's session will run from 1:00-5:00 p.m. EST, making this an excellent way to master the subject while still being able to work part of each day. You can attend from any location that has an Internet connection.

Merit Members can attend at a significant savings below the course's typical retail price, and additional discounts are available for Member organizations that send multiple attendees. Interested attendees are asked to register by November 1 to allow time for class materials to be shipped.

Course contents
This course provides an introduction to the lifecycle of managing IT services to meet organizational expectations. Through a case study, the course presents the core disciplines of ITIL best practices. Upon completing this course, students will be positioned to successfully complete the associated ITIL exam required for entry into ITIL intermediate-level training courses.

The course includes handouts and references useful after the class, as well as practice sessions, quizzes, exam strategies and test-taking tips. The one-hour ITIL v3 Foundation exam will be offered on the last day of class.

Who should attend?

This course is appropriate for anyone who needs to understand the fundamentals of ITIL:
  • Networking or information technology professionals from organizations adopting ITIL.
  • Managers and executives contemplating ITIL as a methodology for improving operations.
  • Service desk managers, helpdesk managers and staff.
  • IT analysts and auditors.
  • IT Project/Program Managers and Directors.
ITIL is a process that organizations often undertake as a team; it can thus be especially valuable to have multiple colleagues take the course at the same time. Merit Members can benefit from the savings available for sending more than one attendee to this class.

Details and registration
The class will run from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on November 7-11, 2011. It will be taught online via a desktop interface, and you may attend from any location.

The registration fee for individual attendees from Merit Member organizations is $1195. Multiple attendees from the same Merit Member organization may attend for a special price of $995 each. Attendees from educational and non-profit institutions that are not Merit Members may attend for $1395, and other non-Members may attend for $1795. Registration includes all training materials, which will be shipped to you.
