This is the last chance to register for two upcoming learning events
offered by Merit Network. We invite you to register today for:

  Virtualization: Leveraging Today's Possibilities
A one-day seminar on storage and server virtualization
Thursday, June 25 in Ann Arbor
  http://www.merit.edu/learning/virtualization

SANS Developer 319: Introduction to Web Application Security
A two-day course on securing Web apps
Monday and Tuesday, June 29-30 in Ann Arbor
  http://www.merit.edu/learning/sans319

The virtualization seminar on June 25 will focus on the current and
emerging uses of virtualization technologies to serve organizations. The
event will be an excellent opportunity for server and storage
professionals, CIOs, information architects, and data center managers to
survey the industry, learn from others who have implemented creative
solutions, and interact with peers about this vital set of technologies.
Speakers will include an industry analyst and staff from the State of
Michigan, Miami University, Ball State University, and Elgin (IL)
Community College, and VMware. Representatives from relevant sponsors
will be on hand to discuss products in virtualization.

"Intro to Web Application Security" is hands-on, action-packed course
covering the common vulnerabilities that are leveraged by attackers, the
basic principles of securing Web applications, and basic testing
techniques for detecting the vulnerabilities. This course will help you
understand the mechanics of the components necessary for effective Web
application security, which will then enable you to properly defend your
organization's assets. With the information you learn in this class, you
will be able to perform basic security testing on Web applications as
well as architect, design, and develop more secure Web applications. In
this innovative presentation, this SANS course will be delivered via
interactive teleconference to several participating sites across the
U.S, presented by a SANS instructor.
