Each free, monthly webinar will be delivered via Merit WebConnect,
an online conferencing service. You can log into
the Merit WebConnect webinar session and view the
presentation from your office or anywhere else
that has an Internet connection (a phone
connection may also be required depending on your
computer’s type and capabilities). You can also
listen to the audio by phone, without a computer
connection.
Please register for the August 18 webinar by using
the link below. You will complete a very brief
registration form and then will be sent an email
with further instructions. You can use this
registration even through the end of the webinar,
and can re-register if you happen to lose the
emailed instructions.

Ready
or not...IPv6 is here
As our
inaugural speaker, John Curran, President and CEO of
the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN), will
discuss how organizations should be preparing
for the challenges of IPv4 depletion and IPv6
adoption. He will discuss best practices for
making the transition as seamless as possible and
highlight the key elements an organization must
consider during the IPv6 adoption process.
Finally, John will provide the IPv6 educational
resources available to help networking
professionals prepare for IPv6 and stay up to date
with the latest information about IPv6 deployment.
About John Curran
John Curran is the President and CEO of the
American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN),
responsible for leading the organization in its
mission of managing the distribution of Internet
number resources in its geographic region. He was
also a founder of ARIN and served as its Chairman
from inception through early 2009.

Are You Managing Your Vendors?
After a statement of work agreement is signed, a
vendor will provide some sort of service, either
short- or long-term, for your organization. What
is your ongoing role in managing the statement of
work and making sure that the vendor delivers as
promised?
About Theresa Rowe
Theresa Rowe is the Chief Information Officer for
University Technology Services at Oakland University.
She is responsible for the central information
technology operation. She is the current chair of
the EDUCAUSE CIO Constituent Group. Prior to
joining Oakland University, Theresa gained
valuable experience in various IT positions,
including roles in the automotive and legal
industries.
