Last June, USAC sent letters requesting substantial information to
applicants who had used Trillion. This was linked to an Arizona settlement
involving both Trillion and E-Rate Consulting Services ("ERC" -- most definitely
not E-Rate Central).
Now the other shoe has dropped; USAC has sent companion letters to
past or present ERC clients with questions going back to FY 2004.
The letters seek information on ERC services provided, ERC's role in tech
planning and procurement, and BEAR payments.
A copy of the USAC letter is attached. Note that the letters are
addressed to superintendents. If you know of any applicants who used ERC,
you might want to make sure that their E-rate coordinators are aware of these
requests.
