Disaster Recover/Business Continuity Updates

Hello Group:

I wanted to you with some updates regarding the Disaster Recovery Summit. 
An e-mail list (bc@merit.edu) has been created and a Disaster Recovery 
Resource Page at: http://www.merit.edu/mn/resources/bc.html. We would like 
your input and deposits for adding resources to this page. Please forward 
your additions to either the e-mail group at bc@merit.edu or directly to 
Susan Harris at srh@merit.edu.  An archive of e-mail discussion is at: 
http://www.merit.edu/mail.archives/bc/index.html.

We have received many inquiries regarding the next steps and if Merit can 
assist with facilitating the Merit Community to share resources, such as 
sharing sample Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity plans, sharing of rack 
or floor space, match-making between Merit Member and Affiliate 
organizations, and more training to develop a Business Continuity Plan. 
Listed below is more information regarding these request:

*	Do you have a Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity plan already written? 
If so, would you be willing to share it with the members of this list? We 
can place them in a separate ‘password’ protected area for the members 
of this list or we can distribute them as members of the group request.

or to this list.

*	Do you have empty rack space or floor space that you would be willing to 
share as part of a match-making arrangement with other Merit organization 
members of this  listserv? If so, please send e-mail directly to me 
(ejd@merit.edu) and Susan (srh@merit.edu) or to this list.’

*	Do you need temporary data center facilities? If so, when and how much 
space is required? Please send e-mail directly to me (ejd@merit.edu) and 
Susan (srh@merit.edu) or to this list.

*	Is your organization currently purchasing Disaster Recovery services from 
an outside provider? If so, would you please share this information with 
the members of this list (bc@merit.edu)?

We are working on the final details of a workshop for Business Continuity 
Planning. Information regarding this workshop will be sent out later today 
or tomorrow.

Please let us know if you have any input regarding the next steps and 
process to keeping this forum and support moving forward.
