Merit Professional Learning is pleased to host Beginning Java Application Development. This course teaches aspiring Java programmers the skills they need to successfully write their first applications in Java.
This course is designed to introduce you to the basic concepts in Java application development. It is geared toward experienced programmers and developers who are new to Java development. If you work in a Groovy/Grails environment, this class can prepare you for Application Development with Groovy and Grails training, a course Merit Professional Learning offers on February 24-28, 2014.

About the TrainerTraining is provided by Accelebrate, Inc., an Atlanta-based provider of IT training that delivers courses at client sites worldwide.
- Core 2 Duo or faster processors with at least 3GB RAM
- Any operating system that supports Java 1.6 or later (1.7 or later recommended)
- JDK 6 or 7
- The Java tool you are likely to use after the class (Eclipse 3.6 or later is recommended)
Dates, Times and RegistrationThe class meets daily from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at Merit Network's offices at 1000 Oakbrook Drive, Suite 200, Ann Arbor, MI 48104. Continental breakfast, beverages and afternoon snack are provided each day. Lunch will be on your own; there is a cafe in the building and several retaurants in the area.
Registration for attendees from Merit Member organizations is $1,795. Attendees from organizations affiliated with Great Plains Network, NCREN, NYSERNet or WiscNet may attend for $2,095 per person. Non-Members may attend for $2,395, which is the typical retail price for this course.
Scholarships availableScholarships are available through the Professional Learning scholarship program. Anyone from a Merit Member organization may apply for a scholarship, if funding to attend is not otherwise available through the organization.
