High-Speed Connections: Redundant - Merit Network, Inc.

Cost-Effective Network Redundancy

Network connectivity is no longer a luxury. Today, every organization needs guaranteed network connectivity. Thus, every network administrator needs to think about a redundant network connection. Merit's Redundant Connection offering provides a secondary connection, or "backup plan", in case of an outage on the primary Internet link. Merit's consultants will design a redundant connection that stands ready to immediately assume Internet routing if the primary link goes down. By installing a physically diverse circuit to the Merit backbone and linking two or more routers into a virtual routing group, any organization's Internet service can seamlessly rollover to the backup path without human intervention.

For more information on virtual routing, please see the PDF document below, which requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view/print. Adobe Acrobat Reader can be downloaded for free from Adobe.
