Desktop Virtualization: A Summit for Decision-MakersMerit Network was pleased to present a summit on the state of the art in desktop virtualization. The gathering was held on Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at the Kellogg Center on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing.
Following up on the very successful summit held in December 2010, this year's event presented an opportunity to learn more about desktop virtualization technologies, strategies and products. It helped to meet the needs of chief technology officers, technologists who develop IT solutions, and others with active roles in virtualization and desktop strategies. The agenda emphasized the needs of educational, non-profit and government organizations.
Desktop virtualization continues to develop as a technology, while promising significant improvements in the process of providing desktop environments for users. In 2011, implementation and financial aspects remain challenging, technologies and products are still evolving, and organizations face difficult choices as they seek reliable solutions.
