Virtualization: Leveraging Today's Possibilities Merit Network presented a one-day seminar on the current uses of virtualization technologies in organizations. The seminar was held on Thursday, June 25, 2009, at the Michigan Information Technology Center in Ann Arbor.
About the SeminarOrganizations today are achieving significant improvements in their data processing and storage operations by taking advantage of evolving techniques in virtualization. Virtualization can be used in many ways to increase the utilization of existing resources and reduce costs for
hardware, software and operations.
Virtualization is an accepted approach for maximizing the value of computing investments, with benefits available for most organizations with significant information technology infrastructure. Yet the rapid pace of change and development creates an ongoing need for the examination of emerging possibilities.
The seminar covered the current state of the art in virtualization implementations, providing expert-level information for professionals who make decisions about computing infrastructures, focusing on solutions implemented by educational and governmental institutions.
This event will be of special interest to:
- Chief information officers
- Information architects
