Learn to Deploy VMware ViewMerit Professional Learning is pleased to host VMware View: Install, Configure, Manage [V5.0] in Ann Arbor on February 28-March 2, 2012. VMware View is VMware's desktop virtualization product, allowing desktop operating systems and applications to be deployed from a server infrastructure.
This hands-on, VMware-instructed course builds your skills in the VMware View suite of products: VMware View Manager, VMware View Composer, and VMware ThinApp. This course is based on the View 5.0 and ThinApp 4.6 releases. Please note that this class has been updated from the originally announced V4.5 class.
Register for the Course.
The course is appropriate for system administrators and system integrators who are responsible for deployment of VMware virtual desktop infrastructure. Experience in Microsoft Windows Active Directory administration and VMware vSphere are required prerequisites. Completion of VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage is recommended. Before attending the course, you must be able to perform the following tasks:
- Create a template in VMware vCenter Server and deploy a virtual machine from the template.
- Modify a template customization file.
- Open a virtual machine console in vCenter Server and access the guest operating system.
- Configure Active Directory services.

At the end of the course, you will understand the features and operation of View and be able to:
- Install and configure View components.
- Create and manage dedicated and floating desktop pools.
- Deploy and manage linked-clone virtual desktops.
- Configure and manage desktops that run in local mode.
- Configure user profiles with View Persona Management.
- Configure secure access to desktops through a public network.
- Use ThinApp to package applications.

Registration DetailsThe course meets daily from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28 through Friday, March 2, 2012. The course will be taught at Merit's offices, 1000 Oakbrook Drive, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104.
Through January 31, Merit Members may register for the early registration fee of $2,295 (increasing to $2,495 after that date). Non-Members may register for $2,895. Continental breakfast, beverages, and afternoon snack are provided each day. Registration may be canceled up to 5:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, February 10, 2012 minus a processing fee of $35. Refunds are not available after February 10; substitutions are allowed if necessary.

Scholarships AvailableScholarships are available for these classes through the Professional Learning scholarship program. Anyone from a Merit Member organization may apply for a scholarship, if funding to attend is not otherwise available through the organization.
