Discover "Near Sourcing"
Today's educational organizations are exploring opportunities to outsource critical services to achieve cost economies, avoid capital expenditures, protect against obsolescence, and free scarce resources for other projects. Email and advanced VOIP voice services are among the most intensively studied areas for outsourcing because they provide the
opportunity for substantial savings and greatly increased performance.
In response, Merit Network has introduced "Near Sourcing" for email and voice services. We describe Near Sourcing as having a service provider you know and can trust—one that places the privacy, integrity and ownership of your information first. Other advantages of Near Sourcing include free or low cost connectivity for Merit Members, which dramatically reduces service cost; industry-leading pricing only a non-profit can provide; and the high level of Member service Merit has provided for over 40 years.
The seminar on November 18 examined in depth the architecture, features and implementation of MeritMail and MeritVoice. Attendees heard from current customers, partner organizations and Merit engineers and product specialists, who described the services and the options that are available. Special attention was paid to transition planning and support.
