Hosting a video site for Hands-on Linux Security

Your organization can host Hands-on Linux Security at your own facility via H.323 video. This is an excellent opportunity for high-quality network security training at a low price, without the cost of travel. If you have three individuals who would like to attend the class in this way, please contact learning@merit.edu to express your interest.

As a host, you would provide:
  • A classroom that is at least large enough to accommodate any students you wish to attend.
  • The classroom must have H.323 video equipment that can also handle an H.239 data channel. The room should have two display units connected to the videoconferencing equipment: one will display video of the instructor, and other will display the instructor's slides and desktop.
  • Coordination of catering service for students, the costs of which would paid by Merit.
  • Pre-class certification testing of the videoconferencing equipment in your classroom, and technical support during the class.
  • You will be asked to make the class available to people outside your organization who wish to attend at your site.

Please contact learning@merit.edu to express your interest, or phone Andy Rosenzweig at 734-527-5753.
