Merit Network is pleased to present "Data Center Infrastructure
Management", a three-day course on critical features of managing a data
center or server room of any size. The course will be held on Monday through Wednesday, June 6-8, 2011. Instruction will be entirely online--you
can attend from anywhere there is an Internet connection. Read below for information about scholarships available to Merit Members.

In this course you will get comprehensive, vendor-neutral training led
by a data center expert. You will discuss the most pertinent topics in
the data center/server room industry: power, cooling, energy efficiency
and the "green" data center, management tools, and integrating IT
Service Management. Using case studies and real-world examples to
illustrate key points, this course provides the knowledge you need to
more effectively operate your data center. You'll gain the skills to
better assess data center efficiency, availability, and power and
cooling issues, and you will gain substantive knowledge that you can
take back to your data center to reduce costs and improve service to
your users.

About the InstructorThis class is instructed by its creator, David Cole. David is the founder, president and chief technical officer of
No Limits Software, a technology company focused on data center management solutions. He was the founder and software architect of The Advantage Group, a software development company focused on data center management software, which was acquired by Aperture. He has also held positions as the president of the real-time monitoring division of Aperture Technologies (a division of Emerson Electric), senior software engineer at Emerson Electric, information technology manager at Contel, director of research and development at Systems Enhancement Corporation, and director of software engineering at Tripp Lite. He has extensive experience in software development, data center management and device monitoring and control. He is a Certified Data Centre Professional through ICOR, a Microsoft Certified Professional Systems Engineer, and is certified for ITIL version 3. He has presented at Datacenter Dynamics, Data Center World, AFCOM and other data center forums in the United States and Europe, and has had articles published in multiple data center publications.

Location, times and registration"Data Center Infrastructure Management" will be held on Monday through Wednesday, June 6-8, 2011. The course will be instructed online via a desktop interface, so you may attend from any location. Class each day is from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. EDT.
The registration fee for attendees from Merit Members and educational organizations is $1195. Attendees from other organizations may attend for $1395. Registration includes all training materials, which will be shipped to you.
You can be billed for this class after July 1 if you prefer. To request billing after July 1, send email to describing your needs.
Registration may be canceled up to 5:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, May 20, 2011, minus a processing fee of $35. Cancellations are not available after May 20; substitutions are allowed if necessary.
