Acrobat Reader 8 problem when opening a PDF

If you have Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 and have problems opening PDFs. You can either download and install Acrobat Reader 9 or do the following steps.

1. Open Acrobat Reader 8.
2. Click on 'Edit' in the menu bar and scroll down to 'Preferences.'
3. Click on the 'Internet' tab in the left pane of the Preferences window.
4. Check the box next to "Display PDF in browser using" and select your version of Acrobat Reader 8. Also check the box for "Allow fast web view."
5. Close Acrobat Reader 8.
6. Download the PDF again, and it should open in Acrobat Reader 8.

Fox-It Plug-in corrupts PDFs

We have discovered that the Fox-It plug-in for Firefox can change a PDF and make it incompatible with Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you view a PDF and save it using Fox-it and then send the new PDF to someone who has Adobe Acrobat Reader, the file will most likely not open for the person using Adobe Acrobat Reader. To solve this issue, the person who originally downloads the PDF should use Acrobat Reader.
