The Premier Cybersecurity Learning Environment

Public companies, private organizations, and governmental institutions are experiencing an ever increasing number of cyber-attacks from hackers, cybercriminals, and even foreign governments. Every day attacks try to steal financial, personal, or other sensitive information. Cyber-attacks also target vital infrastructure, such as power grids, gas pipelines, hospitals, nuclear facilities, and dams. Cyber-attacks on Michigan could have dire consequences for Michigan and the nation, leading to significant losses of financial resources, valuable data, property, and even life.

Prevention Through Practice and Education

The Michigan Cyber Range prepares cybersecurity professionals for detecting, preventing, and thwarting cyber-attacks in a real-world setting. Like a test track or a firing range, the Michigan Cyber Range enables individuals and organizations to conduct "live fire" exercises, simulations that will test the detection and reaction skills of participants in a variety of situations.

The Michigan Cyber Range programs leverages the "physical" plant asset to develop the most important asset-world-class cybersecurity professionals. There is a full curriculum of meetings and workshops, as well as tools to develop and promulgate best practices in cybersecurity training and cybersecurity awareness. The Range can be used for individual as well as group training.

Students and IT professionals that train on the Michigan Cyber Range will gain experience that is hard to come by, and incredibly valuable in a crisis.

Serving Michigan and the United States

The Michigan Cyber Range serves key stakeholders—both as a central resource hub and as a partner in innovation and collaboration. Critical areas that benefit from the creation of the Michigan Cyber Range include:
  • Critical infrastructure defense
